Deergha-ಎ cannot be typed
I am using Ubuntu (hoary). I have installed SCIM and M17n packages. With the m17n-kn-ITRANS input method I cannot type deergha-ಎ. I can type out all other characters and combinations.
I used this page to find out the keymap. http://www.aksharamala.com/help/chm/Input%20Schemes/ITRANS/Kannada/quick.html
Please help.

kO cannot be typed
I just installed SCIM on Ubuntu Hoary. I also installed the JanaKannada and Kedage fonts and the latest kn-itrans.mim file. I'm trying to use Kannada in OpenOffice, but I can't get "kO" to appear decently. Can someone help?

no "O"tva can be typed
Actually no "O"tva can be typed. I mean, it appears completely distorted.
I *had* gone thru that post,
I *had* gone thru that post, and I *had* installed the latest mim file, and I still have that problem.
Enable CTL
ok, got the screenshot you sent me. Looks like you haven't enabled CTL (enable it in the preferences window of Open Office). Also, make sure you have selected the Unicode font you like to use, in the font selection dropdown. (Also make sure you've removed the Sampige.ttf font).
you need to update to the latest m17n-db
or just replace the kn-itrans.mim file on your system with the latest one. The latest one is available here.
